Taunton House Bed & Breakfast is a stunning Victorian house in the heart of Swanage, a beautiful coastal town in Purbeck, Dorset, which lies right at the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. The Purbeck offers a wide range of activities for all ages: swimming, scuba diving, fishing, rock climbing, golf, cycling, horse riding, great walks and superb scenery.
The house was owned for more than 80 years by a cousin of Thomas Hardy, and whilst it has been thoughtfully and tastefully renovated to an extremely high standard, it has retained much of its Victorian charm and character. The large, centrally-heated bedrooms still have the original fireplaces, and the whole house is always warm and welcoming.
Taunton House offers B&B accommodation in the centre of Swanage, with its shops, restaurants and pubs and is just a few minutes from the award-winning sandy beaches, stone quay, pier, children's playgounds and steam railway. |

The current owners, Marios and Annie Lambis, have lived for many years in the Mediterranean and so the decor and the food reflects this distinctly Mediterranean feel. At the rear of the property is a private car-park and a secluded courtyard garden.
All of our food is sourced using the highest quality produce from local suppliers, and is freshly cooked to order. Each day you can choose from:
• A full English breakfast made with local farm produce
• A continental breakfast with a variety of fine cheeses, hams and sausages, breads and preserves
• An all-in-one 'Annie's Special Mediterranean Omelette' • A vegetarian option
• Fair-trade teas and coffees
• A selection of fresh breads, cereals and fruit juices.
• Freshly-made fruit salads with seasonal fruit
